If the cat has worms then the whole house is infested!!!

I know that sounds a funny question to have asked, but I did look on the internet and all I could find was about ring worms. I tell you it freaked me out because I have never seen anything like that before. I didnt have many animals growing up because I am allergic to them.
I have been to the chemist and to be on the safe side they gave me some stuff to take.
You say (Studentoflife) this is a dating site and was a funny question to ask! Well I think my partner would have left me had I not stopped scratching myself all the time. LOL............. I know!! I'm a freak.

The link below is about Roundworms. The worms you were talking about are NOT roundworms and the type your friends cat had will not be harmful to you.
Threadworms, which I believe is what you think you may have caught, also take a week or so to become noticeable on you. They are caught by biting your nails, handling money, sharing towels etc...
If you are really worried, see a doctor, they are very used to these things.
Also, suggest your friend starts looking after his cat properly.

Get your friend some Drontal from the vet. They are exceptionally effective worming tablets. I do not think that cat worms actually survive for very long in our digestive tract but it is possible to pick up from a cat. you are fine, probably just worrying about the possibility has made you itchy but wash your hands before you eat when you are there. Try to get some of these tablets as its very unplesant for the cat too.

The question itself is pretty funny, since it's a dating site and all ... know what I mean?
I remember my cats used to have that, and my dad used to tell me that it wasn't good for the cat because he would get skinny and stuff so we bought pills for them.
I'm no expert but I believe those worms can only survive in a cats digest system so there's no worry. Besides if it could be transmitted to humans, I think your friend would have got it before you.
If you bum itching, it's either because of something else or it's all in your head :P
Hope this helps! :)

I'm not totally sure, but i think you should go to the doctor and get it checked. It might just be your self conscious getting the better of you, but better to be safe than sorry! And don't go round to your friend's house again until those cats worms have been totally cleared up!Good luck.Love J x
