writes: Hi and thanks to all reply to me =) Today I went to get a pap smear and when I got home I had a message on my answering machine from the doctors office telling me to call them back and so I did and they told me I have a vaginal infection and I could pick up some meds from the drug store I use. What I don't understand is why I didn't have any symptoms or anything that I know of. They gave me two different types of medicine one that had 14 pills in it and they gave me a package that had only one pill in it that said it was for yeast infections. So does that mean I have yeast infection? because the nurse told me I had a bacterial infection but idk I looked it up and bacterial infection could be a few things. And what is a yeast infection..? I probably sound stupid but all I hear about it is *omg she probably has a yeast infection blah blah stuff like that. why do people make a big deal of it? Any other info on it would be nice thanks^^Btw I know this is a little off topic but the doctor said that i'm carrying my baby low in my stomach and my cervecs are low too. Has anyone had any experiences like this before?

Yeast infections are really common. If there's a woman out there who's never had one I'll eat my own head. (If you see a headless woman walking around, you'll know what's happened.) Yeast infections are really common in pregnant women, especially.
Bacterial infections are also common. I expect that one of the meds you have will be antibiotics to treat this. As one poster said, it's possible to have both types of infection at the same time and maybe this wasn't made clear to you.
It's also possible that the tablet for the yeast infection was prescribed as a preventative measure. Antibiotics can actually cause yeast infections because they upset the natural balance of the vagina. (Although I would question the wisdom of giving a pregnant woman medication "just in case" even if the drug is safe to use in pregnancy.)
If you want to know why, phone the doctors office again and get them to confirm the lab results. They won't mind - it's their job.

Hun, dont panic, all will be okay! You have your meds so the problem will be sorted out in no time at all!I dont think that there is a woman on this earth that has not suffered from a yeast infection... especially when pregnant.. there is really nothing to worry about. You dont say how far along your pregnancy is... I expect that you must be in at least your last few months for the baby to be pressing down on your cervix.. also nothing to worry about, if there was a concern your dr would have let you know there was a problem.
