writes: I have been reading about ED (impotence), i would like to hear some general opinion on how to determine if one has it.would it means unable to achieve an erection at all, or only at times, or persistent, if so, how often is called consistent?would it means unable to achieve an orgasm through sexual intercourse due to losses of erection?if erection is achievable and maintainable for 50% or more than 50% of the times during sex, is it still ED? how many percent of inability would determine whether one has ED or not?if there is 10 attempts/tries at sexual intercourse, about 3-5 attempts had erections losses at certain points, with the ability to regain the erection to complete the intercourse with an orgasm, would it still be ED? i would like to hear some opinions, thanks.

reader, anonymous, writes (30 August 2007): It is much more likely to be an emotional and mental issue in someone of your age. The reason most men get this is they have the start of arterial disease. This is from having high levels of cholesterol, which blocks the smallest blood vessels first and creates damage to the tiny valve at the root of the penis. You should see your doctor for a physical check, but once you have confidence in a secure relationship things may well settle down on their own.
