However when we were together, we was starting to plan my move over there etc. When we split up, I wasn't just gutted about us but also because I had my heart set on moving to the US. Now I feel 'left behind' and stranded at home because I know how hard it is to move over there. I get really low about this often and feel jealous when I see other people on fb etc that are moving there via school or work etc.. Can anybody give me some advice as to how I can go about making my dream come true? Preferably without marrying a citizen or having a degree in something? Thankyou

Try researching throughly online and looking at jobs in the US that will utlise your skill set. Also, try speaking to a law firm that specialises in immigration to the US (like this one http://www.solutionsinlaw.co.uk/) as they will be able to help more than we can on here!
The US is nowhere near as hard to get into as say Canada and Australia, generally if you have a job lined up (any job is fine) before you leave to go to the US you should be able to get a Green Card and then live there permanently. Some employers even sponsor your Green Card application, so that is worth looking into.
Just think about what you are good at, what sort of job you want to do and then search for jobs in the US in those areas. If you get a good idea that there are lots of jobs available, you could even be brave, head over there on a temporary visa and once you get a job apply for your Green Card.
Just spend lots of time on Google researching how to get into the US and looking at jobs that are available, speak to some specialist lawyers and then make plans from there.
One final thought - you mention you dont want to get a degree to move out there, but how about studying out there? Student visas are pretty easy to get hold of and you can get better skills as well as being in the country you are so desperate to move to. Just a thought, but weigh up all your options and work out what suits you best!
I hope this helps and good luck!
