When we were about 13 (and very innocent!) my best friend got it from wearing her lyrac-ish swim suit all weekend in hot weather. I know this because her mum announced it to mine in front of us and she was mortified :D We still laugh about many many years later.

Yes, a woman can get it if she is run down, on antibiotics, wears tight clothing, as a reaction to certain types of contraceptive pill, pregnancy etc etc.
However if left untreated it can be passed between partners like an STD so it is very important that both partners get treatment at the same time.

yes, i got thrush at 14 from riding my bike to much. It is a yeast imbalance. Some women get it form taking medication some from wearing tights and all kinds of different stuff. You may never have had sex (i hadn't). Some people get it once, some people get it every time they change something eg. (medication, diet, exorcise, periods, washing powder etc) Men can get it too, this is less common mind.

Yes of course, thrush is a bactarial condition. It can be oral or vaginal.
