A female Ireland age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My ex-boyfriend and my friend are convinced im pregnant. my period is now over 3 weeks late. after the first week, they annoyed me enough to do a test, which i only did to prove them wrong...an i did. but its now been 3 weeks since my period was due and theres still no sign of it. im not the worrying type but they have keep bringin it up so its always on my mind.

so im now wondering can pregnancy test be wrong? it said on the box to take another one if it doesnt come within a week. another question is how do i get my ex and mate off my back. its probably just that my cycle has changed or something simple like that..

TasteofIndia agony auntHey sweetness,

Definitely take another test. When my friend because pregnant, the first three tests she took were wrong! Eventually she had to go take a blood test at the doctors, and then it came up as positive - she was pregnant.

You may not be pregnant. You're right, cycles change, periods can be bizarrely scheduled, but you still really ought to double, triple check the possibility of being pregnant.

Good luck, sweetness!

Crisy agony auntA late period can be down to more than just pregnancy, stress or not eating right or even not feeling well. Just tp be sure id take another test and if that one comes out negative then tell your boyfriend to stop worrying and tel his mate its none of his business.

jamiexox agony auntyes pregnancy tests can be wrong.. thats why it is suggested to carry out two tests i.e thats y most tests come with two!!!! i think you should have another one just to be sure.. especially if your periods have been fairly regular.. i would tell ur ex and ur friend that you r sick of talking about it and that you would rather if they just left it... but be grateful they r there for you because if it does come up positive you will need someone there for you...

hope it all goes well and just remember you have many options

take care

J xx
