Guy here, weighing in. Unless you have a really good reason to think her friend will want to go out with you, and that the girlfriend doesn't have anything nasty to say about you to her friend, don't do it.
It won't work, and you have the possibility of getting a reputation of being an asshole with all the other girls your ex and her friend know.
