Medications for high blood pressure can cause erectile dysfunction. Not all drugs have the same effect. He should talk to his doctor, maybe change the med or lower the dose if possible. He should also try other ways to lower his blood pressure naturally, like exercise and a healthy diet. Erectile dysfunction is also a sign of impaired circulation due to the high blood pressure. Better to get the blood pressure under control to avoid any further damage to his circulation, as well as to the other organs, like eyes, kidneys, etc. Good luck

Well to explain a little better, blood pressure medication lowers your blood pressure. You can only get an erection when you have enough blood pressure. Even after donating blood some people find it hard to maintain an erection. So when you lower the blood pressure it makes sense that it's difficult to get enough blood in there even if you're aroused.

Yes it's a common side effect of blood pressure medication to have ED problems. He should go talk to his doctor about changing prescriptions or other options.
