Well you claim to be in love with this man therefore why would it be unsafe to be with him? You are the only one who has met him, knows his character and trusts him. Therefore you are the only one who can know if it is safe to be with him. It should be irrelevant what country he is from, it is all dependent on his character and personality.
Like all the other posts have said, Turkish men are known for wanting to marry foreign women for money and so they can move back to their country on a permanent visa. If you get any indications of this then you should leave but aside from this you shouldnt have any problems and your safety should be fine as long as you tell someone close to you where you are going.
I hope this helps!

If you met him in the US and you know him and trust him then there is no problem.
If he pushes for marriage or asks for cash then run home.
But other than that it's all good.
Make sure you stay in a hotel rather than at his place so you have an escape route. And read up on the travel advice.
Turkey is a muslim country so if you are not in the resorts then you may not be very popular wandering round in a bikini. Show respect to any country you visit.
Good Luck!! xx

Ok I think Turkey in general is a safe enough country and it is meant to be great for a holiday. I will say one thing however, Turkish men are FAMOUS for preying on foreign females.
I watched a tv show that showed how they pretty much just take advantage of women from the UK in order to marry them and gain the legal right of residance in Britain.
Perhaps you should youtube this show just to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
I don't mean to try and put you off - I know that the Turkish man's reputation is very well known in this country, I just don't know if it would be so well known in the States.
Good Luck and enjoy your trip if you do decide to go!

Well to my knowledge Turkey is a fairly safe place, I cant see why you would have any issues. There are always risks to travelling but you cant spend the rest of your life without seeing the world just because you are scared of leaving home!
Make sure you tell your family what you are doing and that someone knows you are going away, make sure they know when you leave and when you are due to return. That way you will be safer and if something bad does happen, then there will be another person who can help you seen as they know where you are.
I hope this helps!
