Are there just some people who are destined to be alone or who are slated to be unlucky in love?

Help...hoping someone has some insight here. I broke up with a long time boyfriend about three years ago and since then I have had nothing but heartache with guys. It seems like I cannot win no matter how I play it.

I really have nothing bad to say about any of the guys. I can tell that they think I am a good person..but never the ' right ' person and I am at the point where I just want to give up and stay alone. Are there just some people who are destined to be alone or who are slated to be unlucky in love. My friends say I am too hard on myself but there is a point where I cannot be bothered to try again if it just means getting my heart broken.

Danielepew agony auntI know what you and Michael mean :-). I believe that something is the matter if you can't find someone who will like you. I don't mean this in a "bad" way. Just to give some examples, maybe people think you're just too nerdy, or "too nice", or "too" something... I guess you get the point. I don't know how old you are, poster (Michael has plenty of time, in my opinion), but I agree with Skeez. Concentrate in your life and your future. Do some soul-searching to see why you're failing and what you really want.

Above all, don't quit. If you quit, then you'll be alone, for sure, and forever.

Me being a guy i feel exactly the same, it hurts deeply within my heart that i allways get rejected after a day or two, I dont know whats wrong with me, they tell me that i'm a very nice person but not the "Right" one for them, my mates tells me that i'm a nice and emotional person and that i will find myself a girlfriend eventualy, but being the only one in my class who has been rejected from whom ever i had a crush on just makes me feel hurt inside, i know how you feel, I'm happy with any answers you get since it will help me alot to.

I feel with you from the bottom of my heart

Michael

A female reader, Skeez United Kingdom +, writes (20 March 2008):

Skeez agony auntNoone is destined to be alone, but perhaps yes, your just having a string of bad luck. Instead of giving up hope, why dont you just forget guys for the meantime. You dont need to be in a relationship to enjoy life. Concentrate on your future. I recently broke up with my 20 months boyfriend and now im concentrating on my future and getting my interests out there. Some guy will come into your life, you just got to forget about guys for the meantime. Have some fun times with your mates and do some casual flirting, but dont go out with them. Get your confidence back up before you think about dateting another guy. I know its tough when all these guys reject you, but then again some of those guys may be sad that they havent found a girlfriend and havent found the rigth one yet. Your not alone hun.
