reader, anonymous, writes (2 December 2007): ive had braces in for 4 years. when i started university in september i was amazed at all the different kinds of people, different styles and attitudes. dont worry about having braces. everyone will c these other people and different styles and just accept you. the braces are in your look, its an interesting feature and its good because when u first meet people its hard to find a starting line. people can ask when u got those in and how long you have left. you myt not want people to take attension to them but it doesnt really matter. everyone will get used to it and so will you. if theres not alot of people having braces dont worry about it. why should it bother you? you'l have perfect teeth at the end of it. :) hope it helps. xxx

Well you cant for certain, but nowdays adult braces are alot more common due to everyone wanting perfect teeth. Just dont worry about it as once people notice you have braces they rarely give it a second thought.

Sweetie there are people who have braces in their 30's! You have absolutely no reason to be worried or ashamed of having them. Trust me...you'll see that there are going to be a few people who may even be older than you and have braces on them and are proud. Having braces are nothinig to be embarrassed about. Simply go on with your day and smile with pride. People admire that!
