It's very normal for periods to be all over the place when you first start. I think when I started mine I only had 3 periods in one year and they would always catch me by surprise. They really only became regular once I was in my 30's.It's not uncommon for some women to have periods that last more than a week but if this is a regular thing go and see your doctor for a check up, especially if the bleeding is heavy as it's possible to become anaemic. Quite often though, if you've skipped a couple of months, the next period will be extra heavy.Try not to worry

Hun, usually it takes a while before the hormones in our bodies start behaving themselves, thats why you are having irregular periods, however, a cause for concern is the fact that you have been on your period for nearly 2 weeks...
You need to speak to your mom and ask her to take you to a dr for a check-up.....

Heya, please don't worry about not being normal. You're still young and have only recently started your period so it is likely that they just need a little time to regulate themselves.
Your body should eventually work itself into a cycle of anything from 26 to 32 days - usually around 28 days. This could take a year or two to achieve this but there are things that can be done to help in the mean time if you are experiencing much discomfort with them, but if you're not in any discomfort you should ride it out until your body gets used to your monthly cycle and pulls you into a routine.
There is an article relating to this topic, which you can find here, which may help you to feel more secure about your situation and re-affirm that you're not alone and that it is perfectly normal.
