This is probably a bad place to ask such a question, because answers are likely to be 'one sided'; though I will try to provide alternate advice. What makes this person think you are a Chauvinist? There is nothing wrong with having an opinon. Don't let people try to change you because they disagree with your thoughts. From my viewpoint, this is what your situation seems like.If they want you to change for them, ask them to change for you! No gender has the 'upper hand'. Don't succumb to their ideology; otherwise they are no better than what they accuse you to be.

Do you think there are certain things that only woman are to do, like raising children, cooking dinner, and house-cleaning? If those are your views, then you are chauvanistic. If you want that to change, then start treating women as equals, capable of doing anything and everything you do. You can't change your views overnight, but you can start making steps towards a more positive attitude towards women. Just remember, we women are entirely equal to men. What would you guys do without us anyway? Good luck and take care!
