Apparently it's better to stop before you even feel yourself getting to the point of no return because this way the semen hasn't already started to make a move. Surely if you just masterbate until you feel yourself coming to ejaculation then the semen has already started it's journey. If you stop before you even feel it then you can carry on a constant feeling in your penis and make it get used to not reaching the point of no return and just staying at a calm level?

This is one of those things that's easier said than done. It does work though. What you're trying to learn is that feeling just before the point of no return. That way you can end stimulation until you've recovered. Sometimes, a small orgasm will occur, but often this is something that won't cause you to lose your erection.
Something to keep in mind. If you find yourself close while having sex, pull out. Stopping while inside doesn't work. There is still enough stimulation that often causes an orgasm even if you stop thrusting.
