Hey!!! I've just sat my driving test on the 29th aug 09! This was my first time sitting the practical test. Was very nervous as i heard nobody has passed first time in the area i was to sit my test. But i went on my test with the attitude to try my best and if i fail its not the end of the world i can resit it. Fortunately i passed!! :) the hardest part is controlling your nerves. Remember all the things u should be doing in your head. e.g MOVING OFF- mirrors, signal, CHECK BLIND SPOT and move off. just keep saying them in your head it will help you do ur maneuver's. if possible remain calm.Im a student midwife and i was more nervous sitting my driving test than i was delivering my first baby.!!!!All i can say is good luck and do ur best!! xxx

I got 6 minors and i just knew that i had done well, so on the way back to the test centre i was excited and all i could think about was the examiner tellin me id passed and that i could go pick my friends up later that day. Then i failed, i got a serious literally two mins away from the test centre, because i pulled out of a junction and 'inconvenienced' a car who had to slow down behind me. So just keep concentrating even on the way back to the test centre and you'll be fine. And just keep remembering mirrors mirrors mirrors lol good luck

Dont think about it as if its the most important thing in the world. If you fail you can do it again, as many times as you want to. And you will learn from your expereinces.
Try to think upon it as a time you 'might pass but it dosent matter if not because there are other times'
It may also help not to tell anyone when your test is to drop some of the pressure.

My best advice is dont drive too carefully. Thats why i failed the first time. I was so nervous that I failed for being to carefull which made me mad and the second time I passed.

I would say, get in the car and be positive.
Before your exam, listen to self empowerment music such as "till I collapse" by eminem or any music that makes you feel like you can take on the world.
Then when you get in to the car, visualise that you say to the instructor "I'm gonna show you how to drive!"
Then, just keep thinking " I will do my damndest to pass this, if I fail, I fail. It obviously wasn't my time to pass.
If I pass, then fantastic!
What will be will be. Just let it come. But that's not to say don't try and be positive about the whole situation.
Best wishes.

if you worry about it, are tense or think about everything too much it wont do you any good. hope this helped

Not everyone passes their test first time, so if you don't, just persevere until you do. Each time you take the test it seems to get easier, and each time you'll be more confident of passing. The main thing is not to give up if you fail.
At the end of the day, passing the test is all about your driving ability. You have to show the examiner that you're totally safe on the road and that know how to handle a car properly. You've got about 6 weeks to go before the test so get as much driving experience in before then as you possibly can.
Obtaining your full licence isn't a right, it's a priviledge and you have to earn it.
I wish you the best of luck, but it's all down to how you handle the car on the day.
