Good luck hun!and keep in mind there are tons of different birth controls! What works for one person may not work for you!
I love the shot! It made me gain a little weight, but it stopped my cycle completely!
Cleared up all my acne and was just super convenient! It also helped since I could never remember to take me pill on time!

Google it and it will take you to the site and you can find one near you!
If that doesn't work and you want your mom to know, just ask her to be put on it because your period is getting really irregular and you are cramping! That's what I told my dad and he took me to the doctor that week and got me on it. That way if he snooped he already knew what they were! Your mom might just be proud of you for taking the precaution!
