Am I imagining something that isn't really there?

Question - (7 October 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 7 October 2010)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

During the Summer vacation I've been talking to this boy from my school on Facebook. Although I've seen him around I've never actually spoke much to him...

We've both started college now, and we're in all the same classes.

Sometimes he will ditch his friends and sit by me. But he's only done this a few times.

He's made a couple of compliments like, 'you look nice' or coming over to compliment on my work.

He smiles at me a lot, and does go out of his way to talk to me.

When he was presenting some work with his friend in English class, he was glancing at me smiling.

Does this mean anything, or am I just imaging something that isn't really there?

Thanks for taking your time to read! :)

dirtball agony auntIt could. Has he tried to spend any time with you outside of class? Has he invited you to any parties? Has he tired introducing you to his friends?

These could be early flirts, or it could just be being friendly because you knew eachother before college. If he's interested in you more, then he'll want to start spending some alone time with you. If you think he may be too shy to ask, maybe invite him somewhere for lunch and see how he reacts. Pick an innocent first step to test the waters. The faster he jumps at the opportunity, the more likely it is he likes you and wants to pursue something more.
