Am I experiencing normal side effects of the morning after pill?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, wow this is awkward even though it's online, lol.

But here it goes long story short, a condom split on me and my partner about two/three weeks ago, I have the coil inserted but to be certain I didn't conceive a child, I went to my local clinic and took the morning after pill (Levonelle 1500) - about three days after I took the pill I have had what seems like a period, then I went a week without any bleeding, then some spotting after that week and now I'm having something seeming like a period again, I have chronic stomach pains, what I'd usually get during menstruation, but it's no where near time for my period again yet, as I have a usual 28 day cycle, that lasts for seven days normally.

Am I miscarrying? Or is this an effect of the morning after pill or what? I'm really worried! Any help would be appreciated.

Pop in to see your GP if your concerned.

Something similar happened to me after taking the morning after too. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if things arent back to normal within the next month or two, go see your doctor

The Realist agony auntIt sounds typical of the morning after pill. Everyone has different reactions to the morning after pill. By next month you should be back on your regular cycle. If you still have concerns it would be best to see your doctor.
