The only reason im staying here is because I owe people money and that I have rent to pay as I don't live at home. But I feel if I stay here, by the end of this week I will not be here. My life feels soo wasted. I'm looking for another job at the moment but that could take ages and tbh I dont have ages. I feel as if i'm depressed but i'm not sure. I just have no meaning to life. All I do is sleep when I get home because there is nothing better to do and then I have to get up on the morning's and go to a job I hate. Am I depressed or just stuck in a rutt? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

hi i have been through depression and i got into it coz i hated my job to ....all i did was work and i used to come home watch tv and sleep ....i had nothing else to do ...i often thought i have no meaning of life and cried all the time .....! my advice to you is change jobs as soon as possible .....coz as soon as i did even tho i changed it for less money ...i was so much happier ....i didnt go into detail before but my depression got so bad and you are stuck in a rut but you are also depressed .....! and trust me you dont want to get deeply depressed coz it is a really bad thing and can take a long while to recover ....coz more issues come into it !my advice to you is ....firstly look harder for a new job dont go home and sleep look on the internet, papers anywhere you can ...when you are depressed you cant be bothered to do anything thats prob why you think it will take ages to find something new . but if i could do it anyone can before my interview i was crying but i pulled myself together and got the job my life changed! also dont just sleep when you get home ....excercise walk , go for a run do something .....! trust me it gives you motivation and releases stress ! i hope i helped a little

A person who is truly happy in their job seems to be very rare in my experience so rest assured you are not alone at all. I would suggest you think about enrolling on a course to extend your skill base. You will meet like-minded people and it will give you a goal to aim for, hopefully with the prospect of better jobs to choose from at the end of it. You could well be depressed as you are sleeping and crying alot, so I would just suggest you see your doctor. Well done, though, for realising what the problem is and doing something proactive by looking for another job.

Do not give up ever!
A pain I know too well girl! I'm 22, I started a new life in a new town about a year ago and since then I haven't move and inch in life. I'm not a money spender, thank god, because I have none to spend! Rent is high, food price is high, gas is high, everything is high! That's enough to kill someone huh?
But don't you give up! You're not the only one, if you want msg me to talk more!

Hi
I think a lot of us can relate to this feeling. Being in aa rut can be depressing...so prehaps you're a little of both. Most times we feel we're not in control of our lives and this makes us feel even more like we're going around in circles and not doing anything. I guess the only way to tackle this healthily is to take action and give yourself a goal to work toward. It's ok that you dont like your job, many people dont, but if you have a long term goal, and see where you want to end up these things become so minor they dont even matter, they will just be a means to an ends.
Hope it helps a bit
