I had the exact same feeling of it being too much, like I 'didn't want it' as you put. It took me several times of getting to this point before I started relaxing more and realising the feeling is a stop-off just before orgasm, which feels sensational. Your body is just getting used to the new feeling of arousal. Try wetting your fingertips, either with your own come or with lubricant. Go slowly. Stroke around/above your clitoris if that feeling becomes too much; sometimes your problem is simply over-stimulation. Your clitoris is very, very sensitive to touch; so be gentle. If you can relax enough, bear the feeling by slowing down, you will start to feel very tingly and usually quite hot down there, a build-up; short perseverance after that will likely result in your orgasm. When that happens, you'll know by firm tensing of your vagina and a general good feeling 'flowing' through that area. Shaking and trembling is normal. I've never actually seen this, but some women use the bathtub faucet the same way. Soem rub against pillows or other objects. Maybe you can buy a vibrator.

It definitely sounds like you're on the brink of having an orgasm. You'll know when you actually have one, you'll contract "down there". Sometimes it does feel like it's almost too much to bear!!
What you should do when it get super intense is to back off a little bit and just touch yourself very lightly until you can build back up. It'll be easier and easier and eventually you'll reach the grand ending!!
