A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and i used the pull out method ,but one night we did it several times, and after he pulled out i would give him a hand job then an hour or less later we did it again. I am not really sure how long its been since that night and we have had sex a lot of other times in the past two weeks sometimes it was with a condom and sometimes it was the pull out method. I have been getting sick almost every time i eat now, and the other morning i woke up with very bad cramps and they didn't go away all day. I haven't noticed any change in appetite and i have not really eaten any more than i usually do. Also it has been very hard for me to fall asleep and in the morning its very hard for me to get up. ???Could i be pregnant???

Tisha-1 agony auntHere are the statistics regarding the effectiveness of the withdrawal method: "Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, 27 will become pregnant each year if they don't always do it correctly" (plannedparenthood.org)

That's a little over 1 in 4, or in baseball terms, he'd be batting .270, that's a fairly decent average.

Of course you could be pregnant. Go get a test now and see your doctor.

Illithid agony auntYes, you could be. Please get a pregnancy test.

Pulling out reduces the odds of getting pregnant, but is far less effective than a condom, and even condoms are not 100% effective. Any sex can cause pregnancy, even if you're careful.

Yes you could be pregnant. Having unprotected sex...which is what you are doing using the pull out method....can lead to pregnancy. Do a pregnancy test.
