Ima FreAk! agony auntHiyaaaaa,

I've never been to America but that sounds cool!

Urmm tips probably do a little research on the area that your gonna live in.

Honestly Americans are just like British people but without the sarcasm that us Brits have ha ha!

Language is slightly different so you gotta take that in consideration because my friend once went to America for a holiday and she went to a restaurant and ordered chips and instead she got crisp when she really wanted fries! So you gotta be careful. American slang totally different to the UK init looooool!

Money is a key thing you gotta think about, American dollars and also visa and all those kinda immigration thing it's a long process and all those kinda deadlines and passports and permanent resident like you gonna live a certain amount of years to become an American citizenship (that if you want to).

Hope my advice helps!

Good luck!

Lots of love,

Ima FreAk!

x

I would also recommend this internet site, as it's the US Embassy's site. You could also visit the embassy and speak to someone. They would be able to give you the best advice.

spinnaker agony auntthe good news is that pounds are worth more than dollars at this point - so at least your money goes farther here.

Make sure you get in touch with the British consulate when you arrive.

What city are you going to be living in?

dmartin89 agony auntYou need to get a working visa or a permanent residents visa, or you need to be accepted into a university there. If you dont do this you will be deported after 3 months.

For each of these visa's there are criteria to meet to enough points. You have to pay a lot for application, and even when you apply you might get rejected. Its a competition! America knows that a lot of people want to emmigrate there so they make it hard so only the best get through.

I suggest lots of "googleing".

CrazyCaroline21 agony auntwell it depends are you going for keeps?

you will NEED MONEY, the MORE the BETTER.

you probably would need a JOB, which is NOT EASY to find if you hear all the news about america.

you can add some more details if you want?

like how old are you? are you going to college there?

or do you have a degree? did you look for jobs there?

did you saved up enough money to get you through te first months there? How well can you trust your friend?

etc etc. details!
