Im getting surgery tho to remove the rest which cant be done by exercise cause of genetics but with most, if not, all ppl you can achieve the results you wish thru exercise. Good luck.

Cardio (or just a good long run on a regular basis) will definitely help. Or swimming. As someone's said, ab crunches won't do enough on their own. Once you've burned off the fat you can try for the ab excercises to get to the 'wow' stage.
But there's a lot of guys who actually prefer to have something to hold on to when they're making love...you might want to think about whether you really want to do this.

Nah, its not spanx... I looked that up and yeh, they look uncomfortable. I'm just talking about a loop of fabric that isn't about squishing things together... its more of a fashion thing.

Yeah the others are right, targeting just your abs is a waste of time. What good is strong abs if you have a layer of flab over them.
Cardio vascular and resistence exercise will reduce your overall body percentage this will reduce the amount of fat you have there. If you decide you want to do that then please do it properly and balance it with the right amount of food.
You could wear one of those girdle contraptions jmtmj was talking about but I can only assume they're quite uncomfortable.
Why not just take up a sport, or other physically active hobby.
You know what's awesome for confidence, martial arts. I know kick boxing and things are still not seen as very feminine but they're excellent forms of total body exercise and well having the ability to kick ass and defend yourself is also good for confidence.

Ab exercises will tone the muscles under your belly but the belly fat will still be there. I completely agree with Jmtmj.....you can't target where you burn fat. If you start exercising you will start to burn calories and it will come from everywhere, including your belly. Just ensure that you burn more then you consum otherwise you'll get nowhere fast. Look at your posture as well....people who slouch and don't use their abs to sit up straight and tend to have more of a belly. I think that Jmtmj may be refering to spanx to wear and help you hold things in to appear slimmer.
You will not like this but trust me it's true......it's a phase that you will grown out of as long as you have a healthy lifestyle
Good luck hun...........:)

Well two major facts about fat...
#1. We all genetically have different spots where we accumulate the most fat... but generally for guys its the stomach, for girls the hips/butt.
#2. We can't target which fat we wish to lose when exercising. Doing a lot of ab-crunches will add muscle/tone to the abs, but it will not be using fat from your belly only... it will be using fat (energy storage) from everywhere on your body- more or less equally (but taking into account genetic differences from point #1).
Honestly though, not everybody can be bothered exercising or dieting when their figure is perfectly healthy. Have you tried (and forgive me not knowing what they're called), those stretchy bits of fabric that some girls wear around the belt area, usually black or white in color, kinda like a massive hair lacky...? (help me out if you know what they're called girls).
Meh, just a thought, I'm not a fashion consultant but as a guy I find them to be very kind on love handles, plumbers cracks and muffin tops alike.

Dont overly worry about this, you have a womanly body which is still developing and it's normal. Men actually find love handles and muffin tops attractive. However i am a man who knows a little bit about what you mean and feel cos i to have these (yep men get em too). I tell you what worked for me. Just for 1 hour a day every day do this. Take a stomach breath in so that your stomach is flat and hold it. Whilst you are holding this breath wrap some plastic food wrap around your middle and then relax. keep this on for just 1 hour then remove. This works in 2 ways:-
1, it acts like a girdle helping you to look thinner and causeing the fat to heat up making it easier for your body to burn off, this gives shape and defintion to your middle
2, it causes your middle to perspire, this help burn fat and evaporate water toning your middle.
Try it, i reckon you'll see results in 4-6 weeks!!
