A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This has nothing to do with love or relationships, but I think i'm addicted to the internet!! I sound like a sad loser that doesn't have a social life, but i'm simply on it more because there's nothing to do, and I have no money.

Especially bored because it's the Easter hols ( I'm not a bum, I did have a job and I lost it a while ago, still trying to look for a new one). I'd be grateful for any suggestions on what to do so i'm not on the internet all day?

I've just deleted fb because I know it's affecting my college work :S

haha ok reading this back, I do sound silly =)

wonderingcat agony auntLike any other [paid] jobs, some volunteer works are not "advertised" per se. If you went to any of the charity shops (Oxfam, Barnardos, etc), they always need a helping hand even if it is only for a few hours (e.g. sorting through donated clothes, ironing them, etc). If you live at home, and you have elderly neighbours whose flats have a bit of a garden, ask if you could help them with their small garden. It may only involve weeding, cutting some branches, or repotting plants (basically getting your hands dirty). Animal shelters may also receive you with open arms, especially if you volunteer to clean up all the muck lol

All these may mean you need to show up in person, instead of sending application letters and wait for an answer. But do bring your credentials when you show up (references, application letters, ID cards, etc etc)

Good luck! Internet "addiction" may not be so bad, as long as something positive comes out of it, and as long as it does not replace the human/social interaction that we as members of the Homo sapien species require. It's all about balanced living.

Cheers,

Cat

ArmyMedic agony auntIt's just one of those things the internet is addictive, I mean look at us here on dear cupid on a lovely bank holiday weekend!

I really think it's just one of those things where you have to shut down your computer, and get out even if it's just for a walk or a cup of coffee out with your mates.
