John McCain is remarried while his first wife is stil living that is adultery.

Hillary Clintons husband is an adulter.

Barrack Obama has no cases against him...

Twirly agony auntHey! Why don't you run for president?

You may be a religious zealot, sexist, narrow minded, not awfully bright and unable to spell but hey, you've never committed adultery!

Go on! Go for it! :o)

A male reader, anonymous, writes (17 April 2008):

It's not that people don't care about the morality of a leader. It's not that they don't think it's relevant. They know it is.

But people also realize that there are plenty of very moral candidates who cannot rule a country worth a sh*t. And there are plenty of immoral candidates who can do it very well.

The world is a complicated place. Trying to deal in absolutes is gratifying when you think you're correct. (And in a strange way, it's also gratifying to feel self-rightously frustrated at others who feel differently when you're so sure you are correct.)

But being correct in principle does not always mean you're doing everyone the most good in practice. Is it really best to shield people from the bad example of a president's infidelity and vote for a less-competent candidate, if it also means that millions of people will get burdened with a wrecked country (and possibly even get people KILLED in a mistaken war, like we have now)?

How many impressionable kids' minds are affected by the example of the president's infidelity, versus how many kids are affected by the deaths of their own fathers? And by their family falling into economic ruin (which can often strain & break up marriages)?

Choosing a candidate with serious warts is not always gratifying but it is often the best choice. Elections are virtually always a "lesser of evils" situation for almost every voter.

Jamer70 agony auntI know the nationality of the prime idiot..i mean minister.

Since i do Politics at school i have to follow this election closely and i cant even vote in it.

First how is what Bill Clinton did anything thing to do with Hillary.

Second id rather vote for a president/PM who can run a country but is still a cheater. Because im not electing him to be a morals teacher, im electing him/her to run a nation.

Third if your so hung up on morals dont vote, and be sad Mike Huckabee is out

Tisha-1 agony auntGolly gee, this primitive (that's the word without the little extra a) thinker has been voting for longer than you've been around. So I kind of think I know a wee bit about how things work in the democratic process.

I'm very proud that you know so much about the world, but I have to wonder why you're so focused on the whole adultery thing.

If you're hoping for converts, you are going about it in a very odd way.

Danielepew agony auntI am not an American citizen, so I will vote for Roger Calero Hurtado, who was born in Nicaragua and was a classmate of mine. He's not an adulterer, as far as I know. He was not a fool when we were young, but apparently he's gone gaga. The poor guy badly needs help, because last time he got a whopping twelve thousand votes out of I don't remember how many million. His first action, he said, would be to change the Constitution, so many creative ideas could find a way into that if he won.

Trish heres a bit of information;

BEING QUALIFIED WONT GET YOU ELECTED, BUT YOUR PLATFORMS AND VALUES WILL.

I believe you need to read up a little bit more on the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS and how we in America Elect Presidents...

.

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President.

If thats all you have to do to be President, then why are the 3 canadiates spending MILLIOns on Primaies discussing their views??

Too bad you defention doesnt speak about ELECTABILITY... Where in a persons values, views and beliefs will be put in public for the PEOPLE TO judge on weather or not they can be president...

Think about it since you seem to be very smart, just because you MEET the Qualifactions of something, doesnt MEAN you will get that job based on how you conduct yourself....

How old are you... Man you think as a child....

We have PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS for a REASON, because just because a person is QUALIFIED doesnt mean they are suitable to do a job...

You have a person who might be qualifed to run a bank but if you look at their FICO scores and see they have 450s would you let the run your bank or someone who can manage their money.....

Dont be foolish...

McCains, Clintons and Obama values will be a deciding factor to being election, being qualifed isnt good enough to get you in the white house, ASK AL GORE...

LOL PRIMIATIVE THINKER

Well I live in the United States of America and I cant vote in other elections around the worlds though I read about other leaders....

I am not Barack Obama, I am not here to infleuence a person who brags about being friends with adulters....

I can tell you the new President of Russia, who is the new Prime Minster of Russia is...

I know the the Prime Miniter of the UK as well as France

Honestly you have to be under a rock not to know these things...

I also know the President of Iran, Syria, and many the other Middle Eastern Countries

I also keep up with the Presidents of many of the African Countries and India and Pakistian

China also, and Japans....

I even know who leads North Korea LOLOLOL

But, I live in the United States of America and I have been a citizen for 25 years and this November we go to vote for who the President is and in the USA we alread known that John McCain will be the Republican canadiate and that either Barak Hussien Obama or Hillay Clinton will be the Democratic Nominess...

The USA President is more RELEVANT for me because Americans vote in Nov and I live here

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."

Tisha-1 agony auntYou know, I have to have a quick peek at the US Constitution again. I'm pretty sure that "adultery" wasn't an exclusion to being in public office.

Why aren't you asking the same question about the leaders of other nations? Or is your world view fairly narrow?

Quick, who's the prime minister of Britain? Who's the president of France? No fair googling...

Oh, and I don't think anyone here has even mentioned Barack Obama's race except you...and why hold Hillary Clinton accountable for her husband's actions?

If you're trying to influence people, you seem to be going about it the wrong way.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (16 April 2008):

Why do so many people want to single out this one issue of fidelity/sex, and make all their political decisions based on that? I'm sorry but that is just crazy. You don't have to condone infidelity just to realize that it's only one thing on a long list of problems these politicans have.

There's plenty of other political shortcomings that affect hundreds of millions of innocent people, not just the half-dozen people involved the politican's personal life.

In the Bible it says adultery is a sin that explains that one..

If a man cannot run his own household and be faithful to his wife, How can he manage the affairs of a nation???

I think McCain still living as an adulter says a lot about his values and how he runs his house hold, if you cant even take care of your own family how can you lead a nation???

Your way of thinking is warped. An adultery could be a better person than someone who has never committed aultery. Someone's past mistakes don't dictate their fruture or the sort of person they are nor or might be. I hope you never make a mistake or we'll be there condemning you (isn't that what we should be doing!!??)

A female reader, Deema United Kingdom +, writes (16 April 2008):

Deema agony auntYeah I know what you're saying there, we all like to think the head of our country is holier than thou - but when you stop and think about it, why do we have the right to demand that those in charge be less than human, have whiter than white characters, because really which one of us is perfect? And on thinking about it, doesn't the fact that they have made their mistakes mean they are more experienced to deal with tricky situations than someone who is whiter than white - and can anyone tell me anyone who is? Yes, I too can be disgusted when I hear of the things some of these people do, especially if its to do with deception and fraud - that may wel affect us - but the sexual thing, well, like Isaid -they're only human, and that seems to be a thing that affects a lot of people.
