I don't feel comfortable with women - I didn't have many girl friends in school because I was so shy and I actually don't trust them. Are there other women out there who have mostly male friends?

curiousandconfused is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThank you, lovely ladies. I'm not married or in a relationship right now and it only bothered one boyfriend. I think I'll have to write another dearcupid question because it's kind of complicated but I feel more comfortable talking with guys - we spar back and forth, improvise, curse, etc. They're also usually always very direct so I don't have to be paranoid about what's going on in their minds. It's a whole different story with hetero-women, or at least the ones I've met - yes they are very competitive! They scare the crap out of me...I don't wear tight clothes or makeup and get dirty looks from them in public...I've actually thought that if I want to make female friends I need to wear glasses and chop all my hair off...I don't know why I'm so friggin scared of them!

Absolutely!!!!!
I have quite a bit of homosexual and straight male friends. Don't really identify with females in my area because they're too competitive. I'm not looking to win race, I'm looking for a honest friendship!
It's perfectly normal and healthy to make friends with the opposite sex.

Nothing wrong with that sister....it just shows you have good self esteem and are comfortable around men. Hopefully they are good looking! Are you married and does it bother him if you are?

Since taking a job in a male-dominated profession, it has only gotten worse :) Like you, the only women I find myself able to relate to are either gay or bi - which has always seemed odd to me, because I am neither. But I find that *in general* they are less shallow, less materialistic, more down-to-earth, and easier to get along with. Whatever works, as long as you have people in your life who are there for you and vice versa. Good luck :)

I have female friends, close ones, but very few.Quite alot of women prefer male friends, gay ones especially.Doesn't really matter what sex they are so long as they are there for you.
I think you have to look at why you prefer men mates as it seems to be bothering you, hence your question on here.
