They did various tests on me and found nothing at all is wrong, that I just need rest.I had been throwing up quite a lot for the first day. Now since then I have not been able to eat anything at all. I have now not eaten for 4 days. My stomach feels in fact over full - as though I have eaten way too much and no matter how much I try to force myself to eat I can not. I have been trying to drink as much fluids as I can. I feel obviously quite lacking of energy and tired...and also very very bloated!! But I must eat!! Anyone have any suggestions please that would help me eat somehow or foods to try that I could perhaps stomach? I normally have a good food intake and diet. I have never had this problem before. And please, no one telling me to go to the doctors again - as I said I have already now seen the medical people 3 times and all times they sent me home after doing many tests saying nothing is wrong and that I just need rest and to let me body recoup naturally. Thanks Reply to this Question Share |

My first advice is keep going to the doctors and make them keep getting u hospital appointments for further investigations-I haven't yet been diagnosed but I at least know I don't have any really bad illnesses!
There are lots of drinks that you can have as a replacement for food. I notice you're from the UK so get down to Boots and buy some Complan. It doesn't taste too nice but is full of nutrients and has a high calorie content so you get good energy bursts from it. I get prescribed Resource Drinks made by Nestle which if you can get are so much nicer than Complan.
For now take vitamins, drink water, avoid food as your body giving you the signs it doesn't want it and instead have the "build-up"drinks Complan or similar.
If u want any more advice just ask-I know exactly how u feel I've been in and out of hospital with stomach and intestine problems since July this year!

If you are getting pains and havent had a bowel movement for days, you might just be blocked up. Obviously its for you to decide but Dulcolax will relieve things by kick starting the bowel again and emptying it, so relieving the bloated feeling. You can buy Dulcolax from most supermarkets.
If you feel its not constipation, then google IBS. It might be that you are are suffering an attack. If you are, then an over the counter remedy called Motilium will ease the bloating and get things working normally again.
In the meantime keep drinking plenty of fluids. You can go without food for days but you must keep hydrated. If you are very concerned that you arent eating at the moment, there are replacement meal drinks. Ask someone to pick you up a few from a chemist. They will tide you over until your appetite returns. Which it will, so dont worry x

I had a few situations like this in my life (but to be honest, the hardest was only three days and it was in the family, so I knew it'll be over in a couple of days). What helps me is drinking Coca Cola! It always helped.
By this way you will also get some energy, because of its amount of sugar! But because of the coffein, you should try how much you can drink, so that you still will be able to sleep at night!
If I say, I was drinking, I meen, this was a cup in about two ore three hours. It helps if you "drink" with a spoon or with a straw (if that is the right word in English).
If you want, you can also try and eat some pretzel sticks. It's ok, if you can only eat about 5 in one hour! But it is important to get a little bit of salt!
You can also try and drink one cup of chamomile tea. It helps you stomach, but some people don't like it.
Get well soon!

It sounds like it could be trapped wind which can be caused for a whole number of reasons.
Go to your chemist and ask them about a product called deflatien made by Rennie. Check with the chemist if your taking other medicines.
Its important to get the electrolytes balance back in your body, your chemist should be able to give you an electolyte drink to mix with water to correct this, you will start feeling a bit better after a few of these although they taste horrible.
Its vital that you keep taking in fluids.
And yes go back and see your doctor if it doesnt improve soon.
Good luck.
