A male United Kingdom age 26-29, *ovelessFreak writes:

Hi, I'm really hoping you will answer my question and please excuse any typos. I love, my best friend, she has a boyfriend, and she has NO idea I Love Her. We do pointless, mindless flirting, she knows that I also do that with most of my other friends (all my friends are female) because I'm a naturally flirtascious person. Her boyfriend is such an utter **** and he hates me, I hate him, and he is convinced I split him up with his first two girlfriends. We love spending time with eachother, we were really close, then we weren't and now we are again, and it is only recently I've developed my love for her. I want to tell her, but I know everything will be awkward from past experience because since all my friends are females, I develop crushes on them, and then everything goes bad with them, I don't want to go through that with her. Embarassingly, I have only had one relationship which turned out to be Hell on Earth, so I know, 100% that she would never love me like I love her, what can I do to get her to love me more than her **** of a boyfriend?

A female reader, hopelessXO Canada +, writes (11 May 2009):

hopelessXO agony auntUnfortunately you can't make someone love you, especially if they are into someone else. If it's meant to be then it will happen. Maybe you should talk to this girl and tell her that her boyfriend is being a dick. All you can really do is be a good friend and be there for her. Maybe if you show how much you care she will return your feelings.

Hope this helped.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (11 May 2009):

Unfortunately, you can't make someone stop loving their boyfriend and make them love you. You can't force those things, if you two are meant to be together then you will be. Maybe you could talk to your friend and tell her that her boyfriend is a dick, she might listen to you since you are her friend and friends trust each other. Don't give up hope just keep trying and stay a true friend to her.

Hope this helped a little.
