Although confident that this matter has been cleared up some time ago (in every sense), advice I give is that before having sex with someone who's habits are not intimately known to you, work in a sexy precoital bath or shower together as part of the experience. They can be very sexy and go a long way to prevent various vaginal infections. It does NOT protect against any STD or pregnancy, so the man must still ALWAYS wear a condom. At the very least, men should always wash their hands well before having sex. This would prevent over half of the bacterial infections of the vagina.

Babes this sounds like a UTI (Urinary Track Infection)..the Dr will give you meds that will make your pee orange and within a week everything will be fine. But on another note, dont you know you COULD HAVE caught something? Or maybe something you totally cant get rid of. That was a very dumb move and please dont become a statistic.

Aw sweetheart. If it is a urinary tract infection, you are perfectly alright. Go to the doctor as everyone else has suggested to get it straightened out.

What you can do from now on, as unromantic as it may feel at the time, is to make sure that you urinate after intercourse. This way, your urethra will be 'clean'er after intercourse and will not have the bacteria from intercourse to build up inside.

I understand how uncomfortable that is, best of luck with the doctor and the future!

(I posted already) Yes I think it is a Urinary Tract infection (every women gets it sometime in there life I'm sure!) you can get them by not being very clean "down there". probably your friends penis wasn't clean (another reason why condoms are helpful) you should see your doctor And tell them what you think. Usually I'm thinking they put you on Anti-Biotics for a few days then everything should feel normal, although I don't think it is very serious. Also Looking at your age, Did you want to get pregnant? there is still a chance that you could be! and what then? (if you did want a child then never mind).

bubbloo24 agony auntThis is where we can't really help you anymore, sweet. It could be something from him, it may not be.

The only way to find out is to get to a doctor and find out what actually is the problem before finding out the causes.

I'm sorry that I can't help you anymore than this.

Hope you can get this sorted out.

You need to go to the clinic immediately. I am not saying that you do have an STD but, vaginal discharge is not right. Maybe you only have an infection. Either way, for your own health and peace of mind. Go...

bubbloo24 agony auntIt sounds to me very much like a urinary tract infection. My friend had something very similar. She went to the toilet but would urinate very little and she would still feel like she needed to go.. is this similar to what you're experiencing?

I think that as soon as you get to university, book an emergency appointment with a doctor and get seen sooner because it will get worse if you leave it.

This is just my opinion of what it could be and I still think you should explain all your symptoms to a doctor so they can prescribe you with antibiotics or whatever it is that you need to get better.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

A female reader, Parisienne France +, writes (27 September 2008):

Parisienne agony auntI know it sounds preachy, but you should always wear a condom to protect yourself for casual sex. If he won't, insist. Its better than contracting something that will kill you. If that means no sex then you really didn't want it that bad anyway. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but its a simple way to protect yourself. No one is worth a death sentence and that is all I have to say about that.

It sounds like you have a urinary tract infection. Burning urination and bleeding is a common sign.

Loose clothing (no spandex, lycra or thongs-- cotton granny panties that are a little loose) that allows air to circulate for your lady parts will alleviate some pain. You don't want to give bacteria a good place to replicate.

Remember to wipe from front to back (to prevent bacteria from entering the vagina) and drink plenty of water. As painful as it is to urinate, you need to flush your system and hydration is the best thing. Avoid douches and super fragrant wipes. Find a good baby wipe and use it after you urinate (always front to back). This keeps the area relatively clean.

It is a good idea to schedule an STD examination anyway, but visit a gyno just in case the infection needs antibiotics. Sometimes they can be incredibly bad and don't clear up on their own. You would also want to check for pregnancy.

In the meantime, Cranberry, blueberry, and Pomegranant juices are also a great thing to drink. They clean your urinary tract out and balance the bacteria. You can also find some good yogurts (regular Dannon etc.) that have good bacteria in them too. Eat a regular diet but for snacks drink Cranberry juice and eat yogurt along with a lot of fruit.

There are also a host of other bacteria present on a man's genitalia that are foreign to a woman's body. What doesn't cause them problems can irritate a woman's urinary tract and vagina. Another great reason to wear a condom unless you are trying to get pregnant.

Good Luck to you cherie.

Urinary Tract infections can give you a lot of pain when you use the bathroom and make you want to go a lot (but when you actually go you cant go!) is that what it is you think? i think the blood is just left over from the hymen breaking. See your doctor just in case.

Fell better!

A female reader, Aunty Em United Kingdom +, writes (27 September 2008):

Aunty Em agony auntGo straight to the doctor. Always use a condom with a new partner, you don't know where they've been. The pill just isn't good enough to protect from STD's. As you're not registered with the doctor yet, go in to town and find your local clinic - the type that give pregnancy tests for free. They'll test you i'm sure.
