Where are some interesting places I can go alone to meet new people?

Most of my current friends are just like the typical people around my age. They are all happy to go to a pub/club and get wasted every weekend.

This isn't really my kind of thing though. I do go to the pub with them but I'm a health freak so I don't drink and I don't really have a fun time there.

I've been trying to think of places where I could go and meet others around my age besides there. The gym isn't really a good place for me since I have a home gym and well when I'm working out I don't really want to be socialising and getting distracted. I have no idea where to go really but it would be nice to get out somewhere new and meet people that don't just want to go sit in a pub all day.

Thanks for all suggestions!

If you spend your free time in bars you will become like them.

Eagles can not learn to fly if living with turkeys.

If your a church person try joning some of the youth groups. This can be no better than above.

Health clubs are a poor choices as you stated. They go there for a purpose, not to socialize. Try taking one or two quick and easy courses. Something that can be a few hours a day or evening. Take something that you could use. A quick course in preparing sea food, wine, food prep. Making stain glass windows. There may not be persons of your age there, but you need contacts.

Someone there may have a relative that is like you...... searching. I have training in cooking, electronics, electricity, home construction and inspection. plus many other basics. Nothing impressies a female more than food knowledge and about a house. Even a instruction class at Lowes will work. Socialize!!

As they get older they will lose interest in the pub but for the time being you need to think about what you enjoy doing and then find a way to encorporate that into your social life.

This can be things like do a night class at your local college in a subject you enjoy, join a club of some sort like swimming, badminton, tennis etc.

If your single then why not join a dating site and find someone like minded.

There are lots of options but at your age the majority of people will still want to go to pubs etc to have a fun night out.

I am nearly T-Total and have been for years however I still love going to clubs and pubs etc because I realised you dont need to be drunk to have a fun night out, just so long as you stay involved and let your hair down a little and go shake your thing on the dance floor :) I also found that by going out dancing the night away but not drinking alcohol is a great way to have a bit of fun exercise lol.

Yes your friends might nag about why your not drinking but to be honest after a while if they realise your still going to join in with the fun they will soon get use to it. It took my friends a while to stag nagging but they gave in in the end lol.
