I know you can put it right on your vagina, however I do not know how long you are suppose to do that for, or how many days you should. Does any one know anything about this home remedy? I natuarlly have a lot of yeast and I heard that if you use the creams eventually they become ineffective, so the yogurt is a good alternative. Also is it ok to put it inside you, like you do with Monistat? Are there any side effects?

The best way to fight yeast is with anti-yeast.I have not done it myself with yogurt, and probably not inclined to do so the future either, but what seems to work is that it is the antibiotics [as the bacteria's byproduct] in the yoghurt that are working to contain the growth of yeast in your vagina. Yoghurt is milk fermented by mostly Lactobacillus spp bacteria. The majority of bacteria produces anti-bacterial substance (called antibiotic) as a secondary product. So it is not exactly the yoghurt per se that rids of the yeast infection. However, I would use this with caution, as yeast also thrives in milk and milk-based products. So if you are not careful, you would actually providing your yeast infection (if you happen to have yeast species that could grow in milk) with a suitable growth medium by giving it yoghurt (and vice versa: contaminated yoghurt can give you more infection). Not peeing after words the bacteria remains inside you, inturn causes a yeast infection. B4 walking around in yogurt in you vag, call your OB.. I wouldn't take that risk.
