I had a little mishap on Saturday night and had unprotected sex, I should've known better, but I am very consistent when taking my birth control, I have only missed one pill in the many months that I have taken it.I really don't want to take plan B again because it really messes with my body and my cycle for a couple of months.

Hey honey, okay this doesn;t really relate to your question, and you probably already know this, but about Yaz... I've heard from my own doctor that they don't reccomend taking Yaz because it has been related to many many cases where people have fallen terribly ill. Theres always risks with birth control, but that one seems to have more than others. I just wanted to make sure you knew so you would be aware. I'm sure you are probably fine on it, if you weren't I'm sure you're doc. would know lol. Just wanted to be sure you knew!! Anyways to your question... yes you have been taking it for a long time, usually once you've taken it for two weeks to a month you are fully protected, you have hardly any chance to get pregnant. But just remember that bc is only 99.9% effective, so there is always a .1 chance lol, which can happen in some cases, but its pretty rare lol. I'd say you're doing fine!

Since when does a pill give full protection? Or did they eradicate STD's while I wasn't looking?

ffogalilly is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI have taken plan B before, and I kept on taking my birth control, that is what my doctor told me to do. I also called the plan b hot line and they told me since I haven't missed any pills that I should be fine. But I will call my doctor tomorrow and talk with the nurse.

A month is when. Really only seven days, but most doctors recommend waiting a month before having unprotected sex. In fact supposedly if you take it the very first day of your period you're protected from day one. That's actually what I did and I was fine (meaning not pregnant). You've been taking it PLENTY long. Don't take plan B on top of your pill, it will make you sick. Your birth control was your personal plan B for if the condom failed. It's very unlikely you will be pregnant (less than 1% if you've really been taking it as consistently as you say you have). You're actually better protected just taking the pill than you would be if not taking the pill and only taking plan B. Don't stop the pill, don't do anything different. Just take this as a lesson and use a condom next time.

"1. If the month before you haven't used a hormone-based contraceptive:
a. If you started taking Yaz in the first day of your period you are immediately protected against pregnancy. If you started taking it in the days 2-7 you have to use additional protection for the first 7 days."
...
This is a translation as I couldn't find an English version. So I repeat: read your prospectus and if you are still not sure/don't understand something, see a doctor. Better than worry for nothing!
