I broke up with him because he was very controlling and abusive. Regardless of what he did to me i have always wanted to confront him of how he made me feel, what he had done to me and how better off i am now. Any advice?

If this has happened 3 years ago but you are still considering it now - you should seriously consider why is it still bothering you?
You might benefit from confronting him and may be able to achieve closure? Or you may want to sub-counciously reconcile with him? Or you might want to give him a piece of your mind to hurt him as much as he has hurt you? Or just forget it and move on?
In any case - know exactly why you want to contac him 3 years later. Then think about what next step will help you.
Personally I would let go and try to move on.
Please be careful. M

I say don't waste your time. If he was abusive and hurt you during your relationship, then you don't owe him a thing. You not contacting him over three years is the bigger statement.
