A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I like a senior, but I'm not sure if he likes me. We danced together at Homecoming, a month ago, and he sometimes stares at me(his friends too).He even laughs at my jokes and 3 of my friends said we would look good together. What do you think?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (22 November 2007):

Since you're a younger girl, the age thing doesn't matter and he's just "worried about what his friends think."

And if it was the senior boy from the same situation who was asking questions on this website, then the same people answering the questions would be calling him a pedophile for being interested in a 13-15 year old girl.

Double standard.

starfairy agony auntIt sounds like he might have some reservations about the age difference, he might get teased by his friends. It's tough at that age because what your friends think really matters, which in the ling run is silly!

Why don't you spend a little time getting to know him better, try to spend time just you and him. Go ice skating, go to the cinema, go for a coffee and a chat.

You don't need to make a big deal about it at school or in front of friends.
