A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

me and my ex girlfriend (lets say "Jen") were together for 4yrs, and engaged for 1yr during that period but ended up breaking up. Its been 8months since we broke up and we have stayed very close friends.

I asked Jen about one of her friends ("Erica"), and jen said she was single, and i asked her if she could put in a good word for me, needless to say she did and me and erica began talking, we are going on our first real date next week and i really like her, but im afraid of the fact that i dated her close friend.

Should i tell her about me and jen or wait until the subject gets brought up, and how should i go about saying it, plus girls would you find that a major turn off if your new guy was in a serious relationship with one of your close friends?

pepper27 agony auntHi Hun

If this were me and Id set you two up then Id have probably told Erica my friend about the relationship and the fact that you were a nice guy but it just didnt work out for us so to speak..If they are that close it would be suprising if jen has not said something already..But maybe you have spoke and decided you wanted to tell Erica..Just be honest hunny if jen is ok with this then you can only hope that it goes the same for Erica..It would be a bit wierd for me to set my ex up with a friend expecially if we had been going out for such a long period of time and been engaged. Ive never been in that possition so its quite hard to say if Id find it ok love..You two still get on great and you have both moved forward which is good just go with the flow and be honest. TAKE CARE WITH LOVE MANDY XXXXXX
