So I just found out he was in a motorcycle accident and lost 2 of his fingers a pretty serious shock. He is not in any of my classes this term so I only heard it from another source. SO my question is would it seem odd if I went and found him on facebook randomly and added him and asked him how he is doing? Like i said we don't talk much and don't have any classes this term but we have been in each others classes since we started school in past. So would it seem odd to add him? I don't want to come off as creepy or stralker.

 No I don't think it would be odd, just tell him that you heard what happened him and that you hope he is OK. It is not like you are a complete stranger to him, so am sure he will see it as the kind gesture it is and not think it is creepy at all. I say you should go for it.
