The first thing i would do is to start a conversation with him about dating. Ask him if their is anyone he is dating at the moment or anyone he sort of likes. If he says No then great push a little bit further and tell him that their is someone you like at the moment, when he asks who you can say 'well actually it's you'.If he likes you too then that's wonderful you already have a great friendship to build a relationship on.If he says he doesn't think of you romantically try really hard to swallow your pride and stay friends with him. No matter how hurt you may feel. If he is truly a good friend he will let you down gently. I would go for it at least then you won't be torturing yourself with a 'What If?'Good Luck !!!!!!

I think after knowing him for two years , you should chance it by telling him your feelings. If he does not feel for you , you can still be friends.
