I need to know what would be the most sensible meeting arrangements. If he comes all the way to meet me will he expect to stay at my place? If I go up there and check into a hotel and leave at the end of the night will he get offended?

From experience, i'd say the most sensible meeting arrangements for the very first time would be to keep it to a one day/evening thing. Like, arrange to meet in the late morning, possibly somewhere in the middle of you both, spend the day doing things in public places, say a coffee in a coffee shop, followed by something like bowling, iceskating or the cinema, then finish off by a few drinks in a bar, then go your seperate ways and go home. The thing with meeting people from the internet is, even though you've spent hours upon hours cyber talking to them you have no idea what they are actually like, who they are, what their intentions are and what they're capable of. So, first time meeting it's best to play it safe then if it goes well and all seems good the next time you meet go for the gold ;) good luck!

Well there's nothing wrong with you going up there, booking youself a hotel room and then seeing what happens. From the messages you've both been sending what are his expectations? A nice date, then a peck on the cheek or is it a full on booty call?
