Do not continue this relationship as you are being used. This pathetic guy must be reported to the police and I hope he knows what using someone is when he goes to prison.

 14 and 16 doesn't sound too bad to me. The problem is that age gaps are a bigger thing as teenagers. It's the period where boundaries for drinking, sex, driving, working, etc, come in.
So although two years isn't much of a difference there's definately a chance your mum could see things differently. He's old enough to have sex, you're not. In a year's time, he could be driving you around when you don't have that independence. It just depends on the guy in question. If he's genuine he won't take advantage of the fact that he's older than you. Two years won't make a difference when you're older. I personally wouldn't class him as a pervert. Just talk to your mum and see how it goes.

 You are under the age of consent so if anything sexual happened between you and this boy he would be breaking the law and put on the sex offenders register as having sex with a minor. A conviction like with would affect the rest of his life. If you do not intend to do anything sexual many people will still talk about the age difference and i dount you mother will be pleased but at the end of the day it us up to you who you date honey as long as you are ready for anything that may come with it. =]
