I've many factors to consider and i'm at a total loss of what to do.Job one: Increases my professional growth, is in a stable company with all the general perks, potentially opens otherwise closed doors for me in the industry. Is further away and work is potentially a bit boring. It would be difficult for me to find an opportunity like it again without having to travel far and put in a lot of work. I'm not sure if the doors this job will open is something I would like to do, but I won't know until I try it and it gives me a +1 on my CV in case of future mishaps. I need to get up a couple of hours earlier in the morning to get to the job. (although go to bed a couple of hours earlier..) I also need to work with my boyfriend (although not directly, just in same office space). Job two: A much less stable job that doesn't push my professional growth and potentially keeps some doors closed. Has nice people, varied work that I currently enjoy (although could get boring after a bit as normal sets in) and no extra commute. The management style is fun. Doing more of the same work I've previously done. I'm happy there for the moment, but if I needed to move elsewhere then it may be a little difficult. Typically the industry isn't stable and most people can only rely on a job for 2 or 3 years. I can't imagine what my field will look like in 2 or 3 years time so I don't know what would be more useful to me.Can anyone give me any advice or opinion? Reply to this Question Share |

If you take job one and once settled, relocate, as the commute is the major downside and would soon get too much. It sounds more professionally challenging and good for your career
If you take job two then you can stay living where you are, have a lie in and perhaps go for promotion once established.
It depends what sacrifices you are prepared to make in order to earn a living and advance your career
