writes:I think Im addicted to sex.I was molested when I was 6 by a classmate.I remember masturbating from such a a young age even before I was molested I think.I lost my virginity at 12 with a guy about 8 years older than me.I've been sexually promiscious with atleast 14 partners.I've done other things that don't include penetration with a penis but with other things.I've taken dirty pics and made sex tapes and I masturbate atleast 6 times a week more if possible.I live with my friends and I'm afraid that this addiction will ruin me. Please help?

Most people during their teenage years are curious, but probably having being moltested at a young age, may have given you a different view of it all. Have you been to therapy at all? I would say its better toget this under control now while your young and you seem to be aware of it all.If your 18-21 and have at 14 partners, how many will that be in 10 years? It is all about personal preference, you wont find everyone will agree with that - but, for instance, i have been with 2 guys before my curernt partner. For my age, it is nothing! Friends my age have been with 10 or more.. but my partner was worried, that i'd compare him (even tho he's been with 5 girls lol)... So keep in mind, if you want to settle down with a guy and a family in the future, keep in mind that some guys are not comfortable with a girl thats' slept around. So yes, it would be a very good idea to get some preofessional help. It can't hurt can it?

reader, anonymous, writes (24 October 2009): Sorry hun, but all addictions, in time, ruin the people who have them. Get a sex addiction couselor, don't go to just any old schmoo. Go to Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings and tell someone you can trust that you have these fears.
You are young and can go on to lead a productive, happy life, IF this addiction doesn't get the best of you....now, go, get help!!!

Really, if you think you are addicted to sex, you are using sex as a way to avoid painful emotions, such as your childhood abuse.
Your first step is to seek out professional help in your arean. There may be clinics set up just for sexual addiction, but the first step might be asking your doctor for a referral to a therapist, or contact the mental health organization in your state for a referral.
This is something you probably cannot will yourself out of, you need to be strong enough to reach out and get some help from professionals that know how to treat this.
