I already told my mom my plans for becoming a cheerleader, and since I'm a dancer and really flexible and light, she thought it was a good idea. My one friend told me a few weeks back that she was going to get private gymanstics lessons to get her back handspring, etc back. (she was a gymnast up until two years ago. I did gymmnastics when i was 5 or 6, but thats irrelevent) She called me today saying the place would let her bring me and our other friend. The lessons are about 25 bucks. I have to ask my parents by the end of next week. I'm scared they'll say its stupid or a waste of money (we aren't poor whatsoever, we aren't upper middle class, but on the higher end of the spectrum.) and won't let me do it. What would you think if your daughter asked you?Thank you. I know this isn't the best website for this question, but i really don't have anything else. Thanks :)

When you fear something the fantasy of the fear is always always worse than the reality. Ask yourself what's the worst that could happen? To my way of thinking the worst would be that your parents say no. But there's more than one to skin a cat, you could earn the money yourself. Just get on with it and ask them.

Just ask, parents don't want their children wanting for things they don't have. They'll probably support you fully. Don't be worried, just ask.
