reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2008): Skipping breakfast is the worst thing you can do as breakfast gives the metabolism a kick start in the morning after a sluggish night of sleeping.
Just eat lower calorie containing food, skipping meals is not a good idea, it'll make you ill.

There isn't much you can do about your metabolism either to raise it or to lower it...other than be aware that it will drop as you get older.
If you are planning a diet, it wouldn't be a bad idea to see a GP to help plan one for you...it will likely be more successful and will be tailored for you and your body.
Eating breakfast is critical in maintaining a healthy diet.
Going on a diet -- whether to lose weight or to keep your weight stable -- can have serious health risks if not done correctly...especially in your teens.
Take time out to consult a GP if you think you should diet.
