Hi, I am a Christian and I believe in no sex before marriage, however I don't know that I will ever find someone who feels the same and is also a virgin, are there any people like that out there??

A male reader, daletom United States +, writes (27 May 2012):

Well, as others have mentioned, you are more likely to find partners who share your views if you concentrate your search within the Christian community, or other groups that openly encourage premarital abstinence.

(You may want to give some thought to the hypothetical situation of a potential partner who agrees with your position, but came to that agreement after having sexual experience.)

To put things into perspective, a U.S. government agency has been tracking the sexual behavior of our population for half a century or more. As best I recall their most recent updates, about half the population has their first sexual intercourse by age 17 to 18. There is still a sizable minority - something like 15% - who are still virgins well into their 20's. Don't give in to the idea that you are the ONLY virgin you know - it's almost certainly not true. You may be a definite minority, but you're part of a significant minority. (And, some of your friends who claim to be sexually experienced are not telling the truth.)

My wife and I were wedding-night virgins at age 23. We have been married for almost 38 years. Even then we were also in a definite minority. At age 22 we were introduced to each other by a much older mutual acquaintance within the Christian community, who saw compatibility factors in our personalities.

The Realist agony auntIt's tough but if that is what you want then you have to just keep at it. There are people out there but you may have to change up where you meet people. You would be more likely to meet someone in a religious setting rather then a party for example.

A reader, anonymous, writes (26 May 2012):

It will be tough as hell OP. I have a christian friend who believes the same things. Your best bet to find a girl like that is at church, church groups, christian festivals and youth groups.

So go find girls in those places.
