writes:i recently went through a pretty rough breakup with a girl i had been dating for nearly 3 years (she was my first)... and every once in a while it still hits me pretty hard...i have been getting involved with someone in a "friends with benifits" sort of way and i'm wondering, since this is the first big breakup i've ever experienced, would having sex with her help me to get "over" it? or would it make things worse for me?  In my experience, which is longer than I usually care to reveal, it usually does help to get over a past romance by beginning another. You will probably find that moving on is the better way if indeed your former affair is truly over. Try to understand that women may come and go during your life span, especially when so young. You simply have to adjust to this possibility (actually a probability).

You should probably deal with your feelings with the your ex girl friend before you decide to sleep with another girl. One you start an intimate relationship with someone, even if it is stated in the begning no strings, feelings will develop quickly, and it will complicate and possibly ruin your friendship with the other girl.
