reader, anonymous, writes (17 October 2010): i was your age when i lost my virginity. i was also in love with my bf, although we had not been together as long as you 2 have been. take as much time as you can to carefully weigh your decision, because you can't take it back once you've gone through with it. it is a big step to make that leap with him. it may or may not be awkward but you will be sharing something really special with each other and should just slow down and take your time with the entire experience. you only lose your virginity once. the pain depends on your body. if you have a high pain tolerance, you probably will hardly notice it, if its a low tolerance, it might hurt a lot more. i personally did not bleed my first time, but was in a lot of pain for the first few minutes. whatever you decide, just take it slow, enjoy your time together and make it special.

i take it that ur in love wit ur boyfriend since uve ben together 3 years. ok so since ur in love wit him the first time shouldnt be awkward. im in love wit my boyfriend n our first time was not awkward at all. the pain u have ur first time isnt that bad it only hurts for a couple mins or seconds or not at all depends on how ur body will react. but dont get into havin sex like right away i no this might sound nasty or weird but let him finger u first so u can get used to feelin something inside of u n then wen u feel ur ready to start then go ahead n start it only hurts alil then it starts feeling good afterwards. i hoped that helped a lil good luck (:

I was terrified before my first time! I knew it would happen that night and had to have a glass of wine to calm my nerves lol.
But in all seriousness, everyone says its excruciating and you bleed extensively, and yes it was painful I won't lie, but I didn't bleed and it I do not know why everyone complains so much about the pain, it isn't that bad!
After the initial pain, I enjoyed it. Just relax, don't worry about the pain because then you will be tense which will make it more painful. It wasn't awkward - it made me more close to my bf. Just go with the flow ^__^
