That final line of yours - "she says she loves the attention" - that sums her up.
She can treat him as she wants, because he likes her and she knows it. And she wants him to run around after her like some poor puppy. Sadly, he's not woken up yet. But hopefully he will at some point, and your friend's reputation will be lying in the gutter.
I know a few women who have behaved this way. Unsurprisingly, they're alone now, or with men who are truly awful.

She has this guy who does all these things for her and she doesn't even have to be nice to him! Of course, I know that in her place you would be nice to the guy and maybe even date him. But that's not her case. This guy sounds like he doesn't respect himself and it is typical of human beings not to respect someone who doesn't respect himself. Your friend seems pretty self-centered, so as long as she is comfortable, she won't change her behavior.
