writes:I am Pakistani and have been in a relationship with a British girl for the last 18 months and she happens to be just one year younger than me here in Dubai. She and I being great fans of football . I like Diego Maradona and regard him, like millions people around the globe, was the greatest player . She hates him for his Hand of God goal in 1986 world cup against England....she says it was cheating and he was a greatest cheater not player. She says Gary Lineker was greatest player who scored 6 goals in 1986 World Cup comparing to Maradona's 5 . but I answer back saying Maradona’s 5 guided his country Argentina get their hands on World Cup whereas England headed home from Quarter Final stage despite Lineker found the net 6 times and I start laughing and she gets pissed off, hating me with pillow . Besides, I always make fun of England in front of her saying that England has great football clubs but poor national team that hasn't won any major title since 1966 World Cup and it's so pity. All this has been happening for the last three weeks and I like her getting pissed off by this nasty prank of man which is based on facts though . Guys just to make her happy I can't say Maradona was not great player? 7 nights back, she asked me who will win 2012 European Championship, I said Germany and England would be flying back home after first round and she yelled at me saying then go and get German girlfriend ! For the three days, she’s having fever and doctor says she’s having malaria and she didn’t let me come closer to her and kept on saying get German girlfriend and you don’t love me. Two hours back, I cried in front of her and told her that I got carried away too far with my taunts and jokes and wouldn’t do it again. She also broke into tears and kissed me on my lips and I am so happy she has forgiven me. I pray in front of her ,with deepest core of heart, that England wins 2012 European Championship so that their jinx of not winning major title since 1966 world cup come to an end. She has given me space in her studio flat here and also helps me financially at times. Now my question is why we hurt those who love us so much? If this little thing could make her so happy , then why I didn’t do it earlier ? It would be highly appreciated here if you guys put some light on this. Thanking you all in anticipation!

 It really sounds like sport discussions should be banned in your relationship. You should both adopt an agree to disagree policy and never mention sport again since it causes such violent reactions between to two of you.
As for why didn't you say the right thing earlier it's simply because it sisn't occur to you to say it earlier because you were too bound up in the sport competition. Take this as a lesson and change your ways for the future.

 You liked manipulating her emotions. You were being mean because she gave you the power to hurt her. It's good that you caught that. You should remember that you have a tendency to do that and try not to in future.
