Yet he also has said before that I have such beautiful legs so it does not add up, and besides, it hurts to be told Im not so young. If we are in the street and a guy eyes me up he will say something like 'what does he want?'. This is his general attitude. I cant help feeling its a bit like in an islamic family, we are Western however. Why is he possessive over a female relative?

I am very surprised that another females "advice" is not the same. What has it got to do with anyone how short or long her skirt is, least of all a distant relative?

It depends on how short your dress is really. Why don't you ask some of your trusted friends on their honest opinion on what you look like and tell them to be truthful because it's very important. Then at least you can go from there.
