But when I am on my period he is the one who is horny. I feel nasty having sex on my period though, unless it is almost my last day. So why do you think this is?

 I think its pheramones. I've noticed I get more male interest just before or start of my period. It's odd and annoying. Perhaps it like when female dogs are "in heat" and the male dogs sense this through smell. It's like we give off a subconscious message to men that we are not pregnant and therefore breedable. Just a theory.

Okay, my guess: you notice him being "more horny" when you're on your period because you're not into having sex and he wants it more because you don't want to have sex. Then you have been wanting to have sex with him even though you don't allow yourself (because truth be told, a lot of women actually seem to be more horny while on their period) so when you're no longer on your period, you really want to have sex with him.
Personally, having sex on your period isn't a big deal. If you want to do it in bed, lay down a towel. Or better yet, hit up the shower together. The mess washes right off.
